To identify HGH deficiency and excessive HGH, we must conduct the somatotropin test. Firstly, blood sample must be taken one hour after sleep to get an accurate readings. The best part about this test is that it is not affected by time, activity or diet. For an adult, the normal HGH level in this test is between 42-110 ng/ml. For girls between 0-8 years old, it would be 7-110 ng/ml and for boys it is between 4-87 ng/ml. However, for girls 9-10 years old, the level is increased to 39-186 ng/ml and for boys it is between 26-98 ng/ml. Lastly, for girls 11-13 years old, the ideal level of HGH is 66-215 ng/ml and for boys would be 44-207ng/ml. The result of excessive level of HGH will lead to gigantism and acromegaly.
